My Story

Jessica Horton grew up in Durham, North Carolina… daughter of a Harold Newton, a garden center/feed store owner. Many Sunday afternoons, Jessica begrudgingly spent time behind the counter of the store, watering plants and professing her disdain for being there. Fast forward 25 years, and she’s now gardener… oh the irony.

Like many, Covid sent me into a tizzy learning about plants. The obsession grew stronger and stronger to the point I was Googling everything, watching all the YouTube videos and eventually going back to school at NC State for horticulture. After maintaining my own garden, a community garden and containers around town, I decided it’s time to offer services publicly.
